Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will address the United Nations Security Council by video link tonight after he called for an emergency meeting to discuss new Russian strikes on Ukrainian energy infrastructure.

Two diplomats said Zelensky would speak at 4:00 p.m. (New York time, 11:00 p.m. Greek time). Earlier he said via Twitter that he had “instructed” Ukraine’s UN ambassador Serhii Kislitsia to request the emergency meeting.

In his letter to the president of the Security Council, Kislitsia writes that Russia “committed a new terrorist act against the Ukrainian people.”

Due to the Russian strikes, electricity and water supply were interrupted in Kyiv and in other areas, even in neighboring Moldova. At least six people were killed.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russia launched about 70 missiles, 51 of which were shot down, and also used five kamikaze drones.
