China’s “zero COVID” policy has sparked protests of historic proportions in many of the country’s cities – the so-called “white paper revolution” – as the regime tries to suppress them with excessive police brutality and social media censorship.
The images of suppression of demonstrations and brutal behavior by the authorities that are constantly uploaded on social media by Chinese citizens and humanitarian organizations – who bypass the regime’s censorship with a thousand “tricks” – are shocking.
In one of them, China’s “zero COVID” policy, with its draconian restrictive measures, led to a pregnant woman giving birth standing up on the pavement outside the maternity hospital as she was not allowed to enter because she had not been tested for the coronavirus in time and have the negative reference.
The shameful incident for human dignity happened in Luzhou City, outside the Gulan People’s Hospital.
