Blast triggered by trapped letter – Police have activated anti-terror protocol and cordoned off the area
Authorities in Madrid were on the alert at around 1pm today after an explosion from an improvised explosive device, according to Spanish police.
An employee was slightly injured by the explosion, but he walked alone to the Nuestra Señora de América hospital where he received first aid, according to police.

The Police have activated the anti-terrorist protocol and have cordoned off the area where the embassy is located. According to the first information, the investigators are examining whether the explosive material was hidden in a letter that did not have a sender. In addition, it examines how the dossier passed the security checks of the diplomatic mission, without the explosive device being detected.
At the moment, the embassy has not confirmed the fact and has not made any announcement.
