Striker Christian Pulisic, 24, the main player for the USA in the World Cup in Qatar, suffered a pelvic injury in the play in which he scored the winning goal against Iran, this Tuesday (29), according to the US selection.
The goal scored by the number 10 secured the team in the round of 16 of the World Cup. He scored in the 38th minute of the first half the only goal of the match against the Iranians, after overcoming the opposing defense and supporting Sergiño Dest’s cross, 22, into the bottom of the goal.
After finishing, he suffered a strong collision with goalkeeper Beiranvand, 30. After a few minutes on the ground, Pulisic returned to the lawn of the Al Thumama stadium, in Doha, and ended the first half of the match.
At halftime, he was substituted and, with symptoms of seasickness, was taken to the hospital to undergo tests. His condition will be evaluated daily, according to a statement from the federation sent to AFP, which adds that the attacker returned to the hotel of the concentration on the same night, this Tuesday (29).
The USA, who needed the victory to conquer the second place in group B, face the Netherlands on Saturday (3), in their return to the round of 16 after the painful absence in the Russian Cup, in 2018.
