Economic issues and the Ukrainian issue are expected to be at the center of the consultations he will have with the American president

The French president, Emmanuel Macron, arrived in the USA for an official visit until Friday, who will successively visit the capital Washington and New Orleans, the American city built in 1718 by the French.

Economic issues as well as the Ukrainian issue are expected to be at the center of the consultations he will have with the American president.

Emmanuel Macron is seeking, among other things, to increase deliveries of enriched uranium, “made in France” to American power plants, reports a report in the French newspaper Libération.

According to the publication, the American government sought to organize a meeting with French experts specialized in atomic energy issues, while the dependence of the US, in terms of uranium enrichment, on European companies, including the French Orano, is highlighted. It is also reported that France is currently one of the few countries in the world that has uranium enrichment capabilities, which, it is pointed out, makes the country almost independent and dominant in this strategic field.

According to the newspaper, it is certain that France’s Orano is well placed to meet any American demand, while for the French president it is underlined that “it would be obviously glorious” to export “French nuclear excellence” to the United States.
