Zelensky “pushes” the West: “The ceiling for Russian oil at $60 is not a serious decision”

The Ukrainian president considers the ceiling high, as Kyiv had proposed a price at least twice as low

The president of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky criticized today the ceiling price of the barrel of Russian oil at 60 dollars, after the agreement signed by the countries of the European Union, the G7 and Australia, considering that it was not a “serious decision”, as the Kyiv suggested a price twice as low.

“It is not a serious decision to set such a limit for Russian prices, which is quite comfortable for the budget of the terrorist state,” he said in his videotaped speech.

“It’s only a matter of time before more powerful tools are used anyway. It is a shame that this time will be lost”, he stressed.

The price of a barrel of Russian oil (Ural crude) is currently hovering around $65, just above the European ceiling, suggesting a limited impact in the near term.

Andrei Germakthe president’s chief of staff, said earlier that the ceiling should be set at $30 “to destroy the enemy’s economy faster.”

Zelensky complained that the world showed weakness by setting a ceiling of $60, which he said would swell Russia’s budget by $100 billion a year.

“This money will go to further destabilize the very countries that are now trying to avoid serious decisions,” he said.
