“Mastermind” Prince Henry XIII – Leaders of the organization had already prepared for the assumption of specific positions in the state, the Prosecutor pointed out
In one of the largest police investigations into the far-right in Germany, 25 men and women were arrested today, members of the terrorist organization “Citizens of the Reich” (Reichsbürger), which had as its ultimate goal the overthrow of the state by force and planned between others armed invasion of the federal parliament and arrests of politicians.
Eight of the 25 arrested have already been remanded in custody on charges of abolishing the current state free democratic order in Germany, Federal Prosecutor Peter Frank announced.
Speaking to the press, Mr Frank referred to a “terrorist organization which formed around Prince Henry XIII and took the form of a council, structured like a government organisation”, ideologically influenced by conspiracy theories and the QAnon theory (which incited in January 2021 the mob to storm the US Capitol.

Leaders of the organization were already preparing to take over certain positions in the state, the Prosecutor pointed out and added that there were even thoughts of an armed invasion of the Federal Parliament.
Today’s operations demonstrate that Germany is on alert when it comes to the threat of extremism, said government spokesman Steffen Hempstreit.
In addition to Prince Heinrich XIII of Reuss, 71, and former parachute unit commander Rüdiger von P., 69, among those arrested and suspected are a lawyer, a doctor, ex-soldiers, an active military KSK and Birgit Malzak-Winkemann, former Alternative for Germany (AfD) federal parliamentarian and current judge in Berlin.
According to foreign media, the 71-year-old blue-blood would lead the political branch as head of a central “Council” that was to include Malzac-Winkemann, as head of the justice department.
