The Austrian chef and restaurant entrepreneur was arrested, according to the Austrian newspaper Die Presse, in Kitzbühel and, as leaked, had recently bought a caravan, generator, cooking utensils and food. Kronen Zeitung reports that Mr. Heppner, together with a former paratrooper, who has also been arrested, would take responsibility for running canteens at various points to serve the “soldiers.”
The arrest of the famous chef took place in Kitzbühel, Tyrol, where he occasionally worked as a guest of a luxury hotel.
The arrest of Frank Hepner received even more publicity in the tabloid press of Germany, Austria and Spain, as the partner of the chef’s daughter, Salimar Hepner, is David Alaba, the captain of the Austrian national football team, a former player of Bayern Munich and now of Real Madrid.
