On October 21, the news of a tragic accident went around the world and raised many questions. The reason for the fatal shot that the 42-year-old director of photography Halyna Hutchins received during the shooting of “Rust” in New Mexico by the protagonist of the film, Alec Baldwin. About two months later and without any arrests, the authorities are examining all the possibilities and trying to find out exactly what happened.
Police are looking for a warrant to search the 63-year-old actor’s cell phone in order to find conversations that may reveal the truth and, perhaps, be related to what exactly happened to the gun that finally had real bullets.
What is surprising is the actor’s initial refusal to cooperate, as well as the conversation he had with Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, the production manager of weapons, since during their conversation, Baldwin asked for a bigger weapon.
Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, however, speaking to the investigators of the case, emphasizes that she checked the weapon that caused the death of Halyna Hutchins many times, while she stated that she considered it impossible that someone in the set would bring real ammunition.
