Russia: Bans entry to the country for 200 Canadians

The Russian Foreign Ministry in its statement denounced the “Russophobic policy” of the Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s government.

Russia announced today that bans 200 Canadians from entering its territoryincluding Health Minister Jean-Yves Duclos and CIBC Bank President Victor Dodig, in response to similar sanctions imposed by Canada on Russian citizens.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia in its announcement denounced the “Russophobic policy” of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s government.

The list includes the representative of the Conservative party Sarah Fisher, the president-managing director of Telesat Canada, Daniel Goldberg, the president of the Electoral Commission Stéphane Perot and many Canadians of Ukrainian origin.

Since the start of the war in Ukraine on February 24, Canada has imposed sanctions on more than 1,400 individuals and entities in Russia, Belarus and Ukraine. Each time Russia responded with corresponding sanctions.
