Two days after being sworn in by Parliament, the president of Peru, Dina Boluarte, announced this Saturday (10) the formation of her cabinet. Politics, which took over at the height of a chronic political crisis, had been under pressure to make the appointments.
Expectations were high because the team of ministers will make it possible to feel the pulse of the new government’s orientation, estimating the possibilities that the country will finally experience some period of stability. In recent days, thousands of demonstrators have taken to the streets to protest against the removal of populist Pedro Castillo, who tried to carry out a coup d’état on Wednesday (7) – and ended up in prison.
Dina appointed Pedro Miguel Angulo as her prime minister. Alex Contreras will be appointed to the Finance portfolio, Ana Cecilia Gervasi DÃaz to the chancellery and César Cervantes Cárdenas to the Interior.
