The country is facing a significant energy production deficit after the eight waves of Russian attacks, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Smykhal said
Reason for “significant production deficitĀ» said the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Dennis Schmihalafter the destruction of all the country’s thermal and hydroelectric plants by Russian attacks, according to the CNN.
All Ukraine’s thermal and hydropower plants have been damaged by relentless Russian missile attacks targeting the country’s electricity system, he said on Sunday.
Additionally, he stated that “there is a significant energy production deficit” in the country’s energy system, after the eight waves of Russian attacks targeting critical infrastructure.
Ukraine’s state energy provider Ukrenergo stressed on Monday that the devastation caused by Russian attacks has limited the capabilities of thermal power plants and “additional time is needed to restore their work”.
In his briefing, the mayor of Odessa announced that the electricity and water supply is gradually being restored around the city’s main port, which was hit by Russian drone attacks over the weekend.
“The situation in the Odessa region is still difficult. The restoration of power supply to consumers continues,” Ukrenergo said on its official Facebook account on Monday.
