The president of France Emmanuel Macron he stressed on Tuesday the will of the international community to help the Ukrainians “to resist during the winter”, against a Russia that acts “cowardly” and aims to “plunge the Ukrainians into darkness and cold”.
“Russia is acting cowardly” and “trying to spread terror among the population” by attacking civilian infrastructure, the French president said opening the work of the international conference “Solidarity to the Ukrainian People” being held in Paris.
“These attacks, which Russia openly admits, have no other goal than to break the resistance of the Ukrainian people constitute war crimes and they will not go unpunished,” he said.

“But, ‘in the immediate future the urgency is to support the ability of the Ukrainian people to resist,'” he said, calling for international contribution to be raised “at the height of the circumstances”.
He announced additional French height aid 76.5 million euros so that Ukraine will spend the winter of the beginning of 2023 that will be directed “in the field of electricity and energy”.
The sum is in addition to the 48.5 million euros announced by Paris, which are in the process of being disbursed and are intended “for the priorities established in the context of the conference: 27 million for winter emergency needs and distribution of the rest among the displaced, the cases of sexual abuse , food aid, psychological security”.
