A total of four victims – the deaths of an eight-year-old, ten-year-old Jack Johnson who had rushed to the aid of the others and an 11-year-old
London, Thanasis Gavos
West Midlands Police in central west England announced the death of the six-year-old boy who had been in a critical condition since Sunday when he and other children fell into a frozen pond in a park Solihull.
His death brings the total number of victims of the tragedy that has rocked Britain to four.
The deaths had preceded the deaths of an eight-year-old, ten-year-old Jack Johnson who had rushed to the aid of the others and an 11-year-old.
The four boys fell into the freezing water when the ice broke on the surface of the lake they had been on.
Police also announced that the search for two possible missing persons in the lake is being completed tonight. The investigation began on Sunday following the testimony of six people who were at the scene of the ice break.
As reported, no relatives or acquaintances had reported any individuals as missing, so police believe the six-person report may have been inaccurate.
In the announcement of the six-year-old’s death, the police said that “we cannot realize the enormity of the pain that (relatives and friends) must be feeling”.
