Trumpist deputy son of Brazilians elected in the US lied on his resume, says newspaper

by

An investigation by the American newspaper The New York Times published this Monday (19) reveals that the curriculum presented by elected representative George Santos, son of Brazilians and the first openly gay republican elected in the USA, contains several gaps.

The newspaper accessed public documents and court cases in the US and Brazil and revealed that Citigrou and Goldman Sachs, places that appear in Santos’ biography, have no record that the trumpist has worked in those places. Baruch College, where he says he studied, also has no records of his passing there.

The Federal Revenue reported to the report that it was unable to locate records of the Friends of Pets United group, which rescues animals and to which Santos belongs. And as far as Santos’ money goes, the New York Yimes couldn’t find any records of his properties, which he describes as a family fortune in real estate.

The newspaper also found a passage by Santos through Brazil that was not mentioned to his voters in the campaign. The investigation showed that, when the now elected deputy was 19 years old, in 2008, he stole the checkbook of a man with whom his mother worked in Niterói.

Police records show that Santos used the receipt for purchases, such as shoes. Two years after the theft, he confessed to the crime and was charged. The case remains unresolved, as Santos was never reached by Brazilian authorities to testify.

Santos attorney Joe Murray told the New York Times in a brief statement that he is not surprised that he has enemies at the newspaper who “are trying to tarnish his name with slurs.” The text was later published on Santos’ social networks.

A convinced Trumpist, Santos defends the flags of former President Donald Trump and claims on his website that his parents “legally immigrated to the US in pursuit of the American dream, where they began their new lives under the principles of freedom and the pursuit of happiness. “

Santos was elected in November, during the midterms, the US midterm elections, in the state of Long Island.
