Unlike Wednesday’s 12-hour strike, the two strikes announced by Unison for next month will be 24-hour strikes
Thousands of ambulance crews will take part in strikes announced by the Unison union on Thursday for January 11 and 23, as the British government refuses to negotiate on their pay demands.
In contrast to Wednesday’s 12-hour strike, the two strikes announced by Unison for next month will be 24-hour strikes.
The strikes concern all crew members ambulances, and not only rescuers, it is clarified in the announcement of Unison, which represents the majority of workers in this sector. However, he emphasizes that several of its members will be exempted in order to offer their services in emergencies.
“Only through talks will this dispute end,” Unison general secretary Christina Makania said. “No health worker wants to strike again in the new year,” he added.
The British Ministry of Health did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment.
