“I can’t stop crying,” the victim’s son wrote on Facebook.

The number of victims of the severe weather that is affecting several regions of the United States is increasing more and more, including a 56-year-old man who was found dead on his birthday, having died from the cold.

A Buffalo man was found dead in the middle of the road after freezing to death on what would have been his 56th birthday, his family said.

This is William Clay, who was identified by his relatives as the person who was found face down in the snow at Bailey and Kensington avenues in Erie County.

WGRV reported that videos were circulating on social media showing the unfortunate man lying dead in the middle of the road. Local officials later confirmed it was the third death in the county during the severe snowstorm. However, Buffalo Police have not yet released details on the identity of the man who died of cold in the street.

In a post made by the victim’s sister, Sofia early Saturday morning, she wrote that her brother is missing and that he was aware of frequenting the 7eleven. Hours later she revealed her brother had been found dead and set up a page to raise money for his funeral expenses.

“I am the sister of the gentleman who passed away during the blizzard on 12/24/2022,” his sister wrote, adding: “my brother passed away unexpectedly on his birthday.”

Another relative, Laura LaShomb, informed friends and family via Facebook that the unfortunate man was “found frozen” after “going to the store.”

Clay’s son, Jules, said he spoke to his father before he died and told him he loved him. “I can’t stop crying,” the victim’s son wrote on Facebook.

The severe weather is expected to last until Monday.
