Akar argued that Greeks should learn from history before it is too late, while stressing the determination of Turkey’s military to face any danger, wherever it comes from.

The Turkish Minister of National Defense made new provocative statements against Greece Hulusi Akarfrom the event for the 101st anniversary of the Liberation of Gaziantep in Southeast Turkey, which he attended.

Hulusi Akar stated that his country “which is keenly concerned with international relations with the vision of the Century of Turkey under the leadership of our president, has a voice in the world by acting proactively against global and regional developments, and its sphere of influence and power is expanding day by day and also produces security as an effective force in the region and the world.”

Referring to Greece, he argued that the Greeks should learn from history before it is too late, while he emphasized the determination of the Turkish army to face any danger, wherever it comes from.

“(The Greeks) should learn from history before it snows on the mountains they trusted and before they forget what they lived in 1922. Although we are open to dialogue in Cyprus, the Aegean and the eastern Mediterranean, we have not allowed any fait accompli to date and will not will we ever allow this again. We are determined and will insist on protecting the rights and interests of ours and our Cypriot brothers. Our heroic military is determined to ensure the security of our country and our noble nation, no matter where the danger comes from,” he said.
