According to Zelensky, more than 80 enemy drones were shot down over Ukraine within two twenty-four hours of the new year
Russia is planning a protracted campaign of Iranian drone strikes to wear down Ukraine, Ukraine’s president warned on Monday night. Volodymyr Zelensky.
“We have information that Russia is planning a protracted attack with Shahed drones,” Zelensky warned in his nightly videotaped address. “It is probably based on the depletion of our people, air defenses, energy,” he added.
According to the Ukrainian president, more by 80 enemy drones were shot down over Ukraine within two twenty-four hours of the new year.
Ukraine, he said, “had to act and do everything so that the terrorists’ goal failed, as all others failed,” he added.
“Of course, I am grateful to the pilots of our fighter jets and the warriors of the mobile firing groups. Thanks to everyone who will be on duty in battle positions tonight! Thanks to everyone who fights for Ukraine! Thanks to everyone who helps!” Zelensky concluded in his message.
“The blows will become deeper and deeper in Russia”
“The strikes will go deeper and deeper into Russian territory,” warned meanwhile the only 37-year-old head of the Ukrainian military intelligence service, general Kirill Budanov, in an interview with a journalist of the American network ABC in the shadow of the bloody attack on a Russian base in Donetsk.
In a rare public admission on Ukraine war casualties, Moscow acknowledged earlier Monday that dozens of its soldiers had been killed in one of the deadliest strikes since the start of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Ukrainian Head of Military Intelligence Kyrylo Budanov in an interview with @ABCsaid that there will be more strikes on Russian territory and they will be “deeper and deeper”.

The Russian ministry said the facility was hit by four missiles fired from US-made HIMARS multiple rocket launchers, claiming that two other missiles were shot down. Kyiv reported that the number of Russians amounts to almost 400, although officials of the Russian occupation administration called this account exaggerated.
“Did Ukraine hit the air base?” reporter Britt Klenett asks him. “I can not answer now to your question. Only after the end of the war” commented the head of the Ukrainian military intelligence service. “I’m very happy to see this,” he replied, however, when asked about the attack. “Will we see more?” asks the reporter. “I think” Budanov replies. “Inside Russia, deep inside (its territory)?” the journalist asks again. “Deeper and Deeper” replies the Ukrainian general, declaring that Kyiv has the right to use all its weapons, and in Crimea, which is Ukrainian territory.
