Research by “Quaest Pesquisa e Consultoria”, at the request of the Brazilian newspaper “O’Globo”, shows that, from the day of his death until yesterday, the day of his burial, the topic of Pele’s death reached 2 billion views on social media.

Completing the top-10 countries with the most reports of his death are Mexico (where Pele was worshiped after and since his appearance for the Brazilian national team in the 1970 World Cup), France, Colombia, Argentina , Spain, United Kingdom, Venezuela and Nigeria.

In the African country, the interest is special, referring to the episode that when Pele’s Santos toured the country in 1969, she managed to stop the war there.
