Kyiv frees 50 Russian soldiers after talks with Moscow

Joint air exercises between Russia and Belarus from January 16 to February 1

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced today, Sunday, that Ukraine has freed 50 Russian soldiers who had been captured, after conducting relevant negotiations.

As announced, the freed soldiers will be flown to Moscow for medical and psychological rehabilitation.

“On January 8, following the positive outcome of the negotiations, 50 Russian soldiers who faced mortal danger during their detention returned from the area controlled by the government of Kiev,” the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

Ukraine confirmed the information and announced that Russia had released 50 Ukrainian soldiers as part of the agreement reached.

Joint air exercises between Russia and Belarus

Russia and Belarus will conduct joint air exercises as part of the bilateral regional development of their armed forces, as announced today by the Ministry of Defense of Belarus.

The exercises will take place from January 16 to February 1as stated in the announcement of the same ministry.

According to the same announcement, Russian air units arrived in Belarus today. The exercises will improve the capabilities of all air bases, as well as the training fields of the Air Force of Belarus, as well as its air defense, the ministry added.
