Another 13,106 cases of the Omicron variant were confirmed today in the UK.
A total of 74,089 cases have now been identified, while the suspected cases of Omicron that have been identified amount to 165,804.
The number of patients of the new variant is 195 and the number of bodies that have ended up has increased to 18.
For the first time, the daily cases of COVID-19 in the United Kingdom exceeded 100,000
Coronavirus cases in the United Kingdom were counted at 106,122 in the last 24 hours, on the first day with more than 100,000 cases since the beginning of the pandemic.
Overall in the last seven days the confirmed cases of coronavirus are increased by almost 59%.
The deaths confirmed in the 24-hour period were 140. In the seven days the deaths have been reduced by almost 3%.
An increase was also recorded in the number of coronavirus carriers hospitalized, which rose above eight thousand (8,008) for the first time in exactly one month.
On the other hand, a record number of third installments delivered in one day in the United Kingdom was recorded on Tuesday, with 968,665.
More than 30.8 million booster doses of the vaccine have been administered, with 6.1 million of them in the last seven days alone. This means that about 45% of the total population of the United Kingdom or 53.6% of the population aged 12 and over is covered in three installments.
