“They didn’t have the strength to get on the boat and when they finally got on they collapsed, they were in a very bad condition,” said one of the “saviors” of the young castaways
A couple were miraculously rescued after being swept off the coast of Queensland, Australia and battling the waves for three days – even avoiding sharks – before a passing boat finally found them.
The man and woman, both in their 40s, had camped on an islet south of the Great Barrier Reef for camping, the Courier Mail reports.
The pair were SUPing when they were swept away by the tide.
After a while they were swept by the currents into the ocean, nearly 50 nautical miles from shore.
After three days, they were accidentally spotted by fishermen out on their boat, who heard them screaming for help.
