The former Charlton Athletic player was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison.
Rufus convinced his victims to invest in his scheme, claiming that their “investment would be low-risk”.
Southwark Crown Court found him guilty of fraud, money laundering and carrying out a controlled activity without authorisation.
