Investigations are in full swing into the disappearance of an untold fortune from accounts belonging to eight-time Olympic champion Usain Bolt

Millions of dollars “made wings” from accounts of the “feathered” Usain Bolt. Investigations by the Jamaican authorities into the disappearance of an untold fortune from the accounts of the eight-time Olympian are in full swing.

Bolt’s manager Nugent Walker told the Gleaner newspaper that the Financial Investigations Department and the Financial Services Commission of Jamaica are looking into the case at investment firm Stocks and Securities Limited (SSL). SSL was reportedly the one who called the police.

Walker said the Olympian first noticed discrepancies in his SSL accounts on Wednesday. “All relevant steps have been taken to investigate the case,” Walker assured the Gleaner, adding that due to the ongoing investigation he could not disclose the amounts lost.

“He has been working with this entity (SSL) for over 10 years… His entire portfolio is being investigated,” Walker added.

According to the Gleaner, an SSL employee is involved in an affair involving widespread fraud in the company and may have been involved in the Bolt case. A lawyer representing the unnamed employee told The Gleaner that her client had been talking to SSL legal representatives for two weeks.

“My client is speaking with SSL and the attorneys representing SSL,” he said.

Bolt is one of the greatest track and field athletes of all time, holding world records in the 100m, 200m and 4X100m relay. The 36-year-old left the sidelines behind in 2017 and has signed a number of lucrative sponsorship deals. In 2016 alone, he earned $33 million in endorsements, prize money and appearance fees, making him by far the highest-paid track and field athlete.
