A double-decker bus carrying around 70 workers at the Hinckley Point C nuclear power station in Somerset, south-west England, overturned this morning in what was declared a “major incident” by emergency services.
A large number of police and fire engines and ambulances have rushed to the scene, outside the town of Bridgwater, as multiple injuries have been reported. There have been no reports of deaths, nor has the seriousness of the injured been clarified.
A “major incident” has been declared after a double-decker bus overturned on the A39 Quantock Road in Somerset.
Passengers on the bus included workers from Hinkley Point C nuclear power station.

The accident, which also involved a motorcyclist, occurred while a warning to drivers was in place for “extremely hazardous conditions” due to icy roads.
In fact, on Monday night and Tuesday morning, more than 100 road accidents were reported across the British territory due to ice on the road surface, with the thermometer falling below zero.
The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for very cold temperatures for most parts of the UK.
