In Britain, a person can be fined up to £500 for not wearing a seat belt, unless there is an exception, such as for the emergency services, in a taxi or when a driver reverses.

Asked if Sunak had taken any exception while riding in a government car, the spokesman told reporters: “It was a mistake and he apologized.”
