Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s deputy chief of staff, Kirylo Tymoshenko, today asked to be relieved of his duties.
“I thanked the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky for the trust and the opportunity to do good deeds every day and every minute,” Tymoshenko said in a post on Telegram.

Tymoshenko did not specify the reasons for his resignation. However, Ukrainian media reported that his departure may be part of wider personnel changes announced by Zelensky.
The 33-year-old Tymoshenko has been the Ukrainian president’s deputy chief of staff since 2019, responsible for local and regional policies. He also worked with Zelensky during his election campaign.
Since the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, Tymoshenko, as reported by Ukrainian media, has been involved in various scandals mainly involving the use of expensive cars. He has denied all the allegations.
Meanwhile, in his video message last night, Zelenskiy indicated that he is moving through changes in high-ranking and lower-ranking officials, following the corruption allegations that came to light.
“There are already decisions on the change of personnel (…) which concern officials of various levels in the ministries and other services of the central government, as well as the provinces and law enforcement forces,” the Ukrainian president pointed out.
On Sunday, anti-corruption police said they had arrested the deputy infrastructure minister on suspicion of taking a $400,000 bribe to import generators into the country in September, which he denies.
In addition, a Ukrainian newspaper accused Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov of buying food for the army at exorbitant prices, which he categorically denied.
The complaints have no basis in reality, the minister underlined, promising at the same time full transparency in the investigation he said was being carried out.
“Actually, this is an ordinary technical error of the suppliers,” Reznikov continued, explaining the price the Ukrainian military pays to get eggs.
