From the polls so far, however, it shows that he does not have much power among the young generation he is trying to reach

The die is cast. The elections in Turkey will be held about a month earlier, on May 14 and Tayyip Erdogan is now throwing everything into the pre-election battle.
Even the symbolism, as in his speeches he reminds at every opportunity that on the same date 73 years ago, Adnan Menderes won Turkey’s first multi-party elections.
He declares, in fact, his fan, although history has written that he ordered the persecution of the Greeks in Istanbul in September 1955.
Perhaps this too is symbolic of a last-ditch effort to awaken the nationalist sentiments of his economically disillusioned voters.
As the Turkish president announced on March 10, he will exercise his right (for elections) and within 60 days they will be held.
Of course, the decision will be taken by the Supreme Electoral Council.
The Greek government is monitoring the statements of the Turkish president very closely, as the situation does not allow for complacency.
Depending on what Kyriakos Mitsotakis will decide at that time in Greece, either the second possible elections will be held or the first simple proportional ballots will be set up.
It is clear of course, as has been pointed out by Megaros Maximos, that the government is not going to be redefined by the decisions of Ankara.
The information states that the USA and Germany have already activated in the direction of creating a “security umbrella”.
Washington is able to pressure Ankara on the issue of the F-16 procurement which for Tayyip Erdogan is not only a matter of prestige, but will give him a big boost in the face of the difficult election battle ahead.
The main message is that the neighbors’ self-restraint is an act of responsibility, as any “hot episode” in a tense pre-election period would not go unnoticed by the international actor.
What will happen if the result of the first ballot is not “comfortable” for Tayyip Erdogan?
50%+1 is not possible, therefore the second electoral contest seems to be inevitable.
The possibility that he will attempt in this interval (May 14-21) to dynamit the climate with an extreme – aggressive action cannot be ruled out.
The Constitution, after all, even allows him to postpone the elections indefinitely.
The rallying of nationalist forces will be essentially his last chance.
The international press is already very strict and rings many “bells”.
It is no coincidence that after the harsh criticism leveled at the Turkish president by the “Economist”, the German magazine “Stern” called him an “arsonist” and reported that “Erdogan is ruthlessly fighting to stay in power».
From the polls so far, however, it shows that he does not have much power among the new generation that he is now trying to reach, as a large percentage of them seem to be closer to the opposition parties.
His recent report is indicative of the shift he is attempting to make: “I thank God that it is written in our destiny to share this path, our precious youth who will vote for the first time in the elections that will be held on May 14».
THE Devlet Bakhceli it is still the “lifeline” of the current president.
It is certainly enough for the “six” who criticize the Turkish president and aspire to take over the reins of the country to agree on a common candidate and a common program.
Opinions are divided, as CHP chairman Kemal Kilicdaroglu seems to have the upper hand in the race. Erdogan reportedly prefers him as his opponent.
Aksener prequalifies Ekrem Imamoglu.
The information states that the mayor of Istanbul considered the possibility of running independently in the elections, however, it does not seem that this is progressing.
His conviction, however, and the possibility of a ban on his political activity complicate things even more. There is always the possibility that the pro-Kurdish party will nominate its own candidate, and in this case the victory of the opposition seems even more difficult.
