These incidents took place almost two months after the arson attack on the house of an Italian diplomat in Athens
Target of vandalism in Germany and Spain became the Italian diplomatic property as, as announced by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, last night an Italian diplomat’s car was set on fire in Berlin and damage was caused by throwing paint at the entrance of the Italian consulate in Barcelona.
The government of Rome announced that the protection of Italian diplomats working in the two countries had been increased and that the incidents were being investigated by the Spanish and German police.
According to the press, these are possibly attacks for which anarchist organizations may be responsible, who have called for the release of the Italian anarchist Alfredo Cospito.
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said the Italian government was following “with concern and attention these new cases of violence against our officials and diplomatic missions.”
It is noted that these incidents occur almost two months after the arson attack on the house of an Italian diplomat in Athens.
