Lukashenko stressed that Russia does not need “any help” at the moment, however, if needed, he is ready to help it.

The president of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, said that his country is “already ready” to offer more aid to Russia in the war against Ukraine.

“If our Russian brothers need help, we are always ready to provide such help,” Lukashenko said during a visit to Russia’s ally Zimbabwe.

Lukashenko, a close ally of his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, is visiting the southern African country to strengthen economic and political ties between Belarus and Zimbabwe. The two countries cooperate closely, especially in agriculture, and Lukashenko offered on Tuesday to Zimbabwe more tractors, combines and trucks.

Zimbabwe has not publicly condemned Russia for invading Ukraine.

For its part, Belarus has not contributed any of its troops to the war in Ukraine, but it allowed Russia to carry out part of its invasion from its soil last February and has also been a launch pad for Russian missiles into Ukraine.

It is also recalled that earlier this month, Russia and Belarus participated in joint military exercises on the territory of the latter.
