France resumes remote work and reduces Covid vaccine interval to brake micron

by

Against the rapid advance of the omicron variant of Covid-19, France decided to tighten restrictions and reduce from four to three months the interval of the booster dose of the vaccine against the disease, announced this Monday (27) the Prime Minister, Jean Castex. There will be no curfews during the New Year’s festivities, however, as has been speculated in recent days.

The government announced that, where possible, companies should adopt remote working at least three days a week. In addition, public events will be limited to a maximum of 2,000 people indoors or 5,000 people outdoors.

It is also prohibited to consume drinks and food in transport systems and in movie theaters. The use of masks is again mandatory even outdoors in the central regions of cities.

“I know it seems like an endless movie, but a year ago we started our vaccination campaign and now we are one of the most vaccinated and protected peoples in the world,” the prime minister said in an interview with journalists.

The government is still awaiting approval from Parliament to require, as of January 15, a presentation of proof of vaccination to attend public spaces, and no longer just a negative test for the disease.

The return to school, however, remains scheduled for January 3, unlike other countries that have decided to postpone the return of students to schools.
