The Chinese balloon was flying at about 60,000 feet and was estimated to be about the size of three school buses
The United States shot down a Chinese spy balloon in waters off the Carolinas on Saturday that flew over sensitive military sites along North America.
The Americans organized an operation to collect the debris from the sea so that it could be checked.

The Chinese balloon was flying at about 60,000 feet and was estimated to be about the size of three school buses.
President Joe Biden had told reporters earlier Saturday that “we’ll take care of it” when asked about the balloon.
The FAA and Coast Guard worked to clear the airspace and water below the balloon as it reached the ocean.
Television footage showed a small explosion, followed by the balloon descending toward the water. US military aircraft were seen flying over the area and ships were deployed in the water to begin the recovery operation.
