According to the latest tragic toll, the death toll in Turkey and Syria has exceeded 1,500, from the 7.8-magnitude earthquake that struck southeast Turkey early this morning.
Hundreds of people – including babies, children and the elderly – died tragically while sleeping in their homes when they were crushed by the walls and buried under tons of concrete.

The earthquake was centered in Kahramanmaras province and shook southern Turkey and northern Syria during the night. It was followed by another earthquake of magnitude 7.7 in the same area at approximately 12:25 Greek time.
