The Ghanaian ex-Chelsea and Newcastle midfielder was inside a building that collapsed in the deadly earthquake in Turkey
A small ray of light, in the “black” images that have flooded humanity since the dawn of Monday (6/2) after the devastating earthquake of 7.8 degrees on the Richter scale that shook the areas on the border of Turkey and Syria, was certainly the rescue of Hatayspor’s footballer, Christian Atsu.
The Ghanaian former midfielder of Chelsea and Newcastle was inside a building that collapsed due to the deadly earthquake in Turkey, however, late on Monday night (6/2) he was found alive by rescue teams.
The building where Atsu lived with his teammates in Hatayspor “fell” completely from the earthquake, but he was able to free himself from the debris. As the Portuguese “Abola” reports, the 31-year-old Ghanaian is experiencing breathing difficulties and has injured his right leg, but he is out of danger and was immediately taken to the hospital.
In the same building, from which Atsu was pulled out, other people from Hatayspor are also trapped, with rescue teams still unable to locate the sports director, Taner Savut, and the team’s interpreter.
