Sunak, with Volodymyr Zelensky at his side, confirmed the timetable set by his government in January
British Challenger 2 tanks that London has promised to deliver to Kyiv will be deployed “next month” to Ukraine, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said today at a press conference.
“The Ukrainians who arrived last week (to train in the UK) will next month use Challenger 2 tanks to defend their homeland’s territorial sovereignty,” Sunak said, flanked by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, thus confirming the timetable set by his government in January.
Volodymyr, it was a privilege to have you here in the United Kingdom today.
We know Ukraine will ultimately defeat tyranny, and the UK will continue to train and arm Ukrainian forces with the equipment they need.
We will always be your staunch and unwavering friends 🇬🇧🇺🇦 pic.twitter.com/srMtmJBvfU
