The election campaign for both candidates running for the Presidency of the Republic of Cyprus ended at midnight, Nikos Christodoulidis and Andreas Mavroyianniswho emerged as the main ones from last Sunday’s first round.
Friday evening (10/02) was preceded by the last cross-channel debate between Mr. Christodoulidis and Mavroyiannis, which was broadcast simultaneously by Sigma, Ant1, Omega, Alpha and the Cyprus Radio Foundation. The talk was hosted at the Omega facility.
The vote for the election of a new PtD of Cyprus will be held tomorrow, Sunday, February 12, 2023.
561,033 voters have the right to vote, including 240 stranded and 730 Turkish Cypriots.
The polls will open at 07:00 and close at 18:00, with a break of one hour, 12:00-13:00.
According to the Chief Election Officer, Kostas Constantinou, the final result is expected to be announced around 20:00.
Shortly after 10:00 p.m., the announcement ceremony of the new President of the Republic is scheduled to take place at the “Tassos Papadopoulos – Eleftheria” stadium.
