The Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky pointed out today Friday that there should be no taboo regarding the supply of arms to Ukraine because the country needs weapons to defend its sovereignty.

Zelensky made these statements at a joint press conference with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte who is visiting Kiev, shortly before the start of the Munich Security Conference.

“We have a common understanding with the Netherlands that there should be no taboo in the supply and support of arms to our army, to our Ukraine, because it supports and protects our sovereignty,” he said.

Zelensky has repeatedly asked more weapons from Western allies, and faster deliveries, in order to counter the Russian forces that invaded his country last February. Specifically, Ukraine wants fighter jets, more armored vehicles, and long-range weaponry to try to push back Russian forces.
