The Kremlin on Sunday accused the West of having no intention of negotiating after almost a year of war in Ukraine.

The West is not open to initiatives to bring about peace, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said during an interview with a Russian television network yesterday, according to the state-run TASS news agency. Moreover, the West has no intention of even considering the possibility of organizing a summit between US President Joe Biden and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.

From the point of view of Kiev and Western governments, there is no basis for negotiations, as Russia means to keep the territories it occupied in the Ukrainian territory, where it invaded on February 24, 2022, and to overthrow the government of Ukraine.
