The actress who was the victim of Harvey Weinstein’s 2013 rape, “opening the bag of Aeolus” with her case revealing a series of incidents of sexual abuse and harassment that led to the imprisonment of the one-time Hollywood strongman, “breaks her silence” just one day after the new conviction against him.
Evgeniya Chernyshova, now 43, has previously been referred to only as ‘Jane Doe 1’.
She was a little-known actress from Italy, and Weinstein assaulted her in Beverly Hills ten years ago.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, she emphasizes that she is tired of hiding and wants her life back.
“I’m Evgeniya, I’m in a hurry. This is my story,” she declares.

“A part of me fears for my future. But I’m proud of myself. If I keep hiding, I won’t be able to do anything. I will be there with my pain,” she said.

Chernyshova described in court how Weinstein raped her in 2013 after showing up uninvited in her Mr. C Beverly Hills where he resided.
Chernyshova grew up in Siberia but had moved to Italy and was living there with her husband at the time she was raped.
She was in Los Angeles on a business trip when Weinstein assaulted her. She still lives in Los Angeles, where she runs a flower shop.
After arriving at the hotel room, he shouted back at her door: “I’m Harvey Weinstein. Open the door. We need to talk. I’m not going to hurt you, I just need to talk to you.”
They had only met twice before.
Once in Rome and earlier that day at an event.
Weinstein showed up at her hotel room and she allowed him inside.
“And that’s something I’ve regretted for the last 10 years — that I actually opened that door.”
As the woman describes, Weinstein entered her room and sat down in a chair, just started talking to her.
Noticing her nervous he wondered why she wasn’t relaxing since they were just talking and nothing bad was happening.
“Something clicked in me, like I saw a change in his eyes. I knew something was wrong,” he said.
“He unzipped his pants and I started screaming. I was showing him pictures of my children, to try to make him feel sorry for me.
“I have children, please don’t do this.”

“I felt very, very dirty and like I should die,” she said.
After the rape, Chernyshova and her husband, who is no longer alive, separated.
She later moved to the US with her children.
“I hated myself”, she emphasized and explained exactly the mindset that a rape victim acquires by describing how she was thinking all the time that there were many beautiful and famous women in this place, so for her to choose to rape, she must have done something and caused it.
“I was depressed, I wasn’t mentally stable. I was out of my mind,” he admits.
