THE Russia welcome them today China’s proposals for its resolution conflict in Ukraine and said it is open to achieving the goals of what it calls a “special military operation” through political and diplomatic means.

China is calling for a general ceasefire as part of a 12-point plan to the war, which began a year ago when Russia sent tens of thousands of troops into Ukraine.

We appreciate the sincere desire of our Chinese friends to contribute to the resolution of the conflict in Ukraine by peaceful means (…) We share the views of Beijing“, said the representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova.

Regarding the crisis in Ukraine, Russia is open to achieving the goals of the special military operation through political and diplomatic meansZakharova said.

However, this would also mean recognizing her “new territorial reality” in Ukraine, Zakharova said, referring to Russia’s unilateral annexation of four Ukrainian regions – Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhia – as well as her Crimea.

Ukraine rejected China’s proposals unless they include the withdrawal of Russia’s troops on the 1991 border – when the Soviet Union dissolved – although Kiev has also said it is open to discussing parts of China’s peace plan.

Kiev’s allies also reacted chill in Chinese sentences, with the NATO to state that Beijing does not have enough credibility as an interlocutor because of its close ties with Russia.
