The US will announce a new package of military aid to Ukraine within the day, which will primarily include ammunition, the White House announced Thursday, without going into details.
“Tomorrow, the United States will unilaterally announce new aid to Ukraine,” said John Kirby, a spokesman for the US president’s National Security Council for strategic affairs.
“It will include, above all, munitions for systems that the Ukrainians already have,” he added during a press briefing, referring in particular to the HIMARS multiple launch systems.
However, Mr. Kirby refrained from giving further details.
The announcement will coincide with a visit to the White House by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
