Poland will send ten more German-made tanks Leopard 2 in Ukraine this week, Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak said today.
“Four (tanks) are already in Ukraine, ten more will go to Ukraine this weekBlaszczak emphasized at a press conference.
Poland has promised to send a total of 14 Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine.
THE Blaszak is on his way to a meeting of European Union defense ministers in Stockholm today to discuss European security and support for Ukraine.
“We are scheduled to have talks with Boris Pistorius, the German defense minister. The main issue we will talk about is the low availability of spare parts for Leopard tanksBlazczak said.
This problem could be solved primarily by the German arms industry, and Poland is also ready to produce such components, he added.
“We are ready to start a hub in Poland, which will deal with the repair of Leopard tanks delivered to Ukraine”added the Polish minister.
