“Almost impossible” he assesses threat of an attack on the Brussels metro the Threat Analysis Coordination Body.

“The Belgian Crisis Center (NCCN) and the security services are constantly analyzing information in order to guarantee security in our country. Therefore any potential threat is taken seriously by the various departments. This is the case of the email that reported a threat of attack today in the Brussels metro. The Coordinating Organization for Threat Analysis (OCAM) has assessed this threat as almost improbable,” the crisis center said in a statement.

He adds, however, that “as a precaution, the police services are on increased alertness on the Brussels metro network. A check of the premises, carried out by the federal police, also proved negative. The Coordination for Threat Analysis (OCAM) currently maintains the overall threat level for Belgium at “medium” or level 2 on a scale of 4. No additional measures are currently required. The NCCN, in collaboration with all security agencies, continues to monitor the situation closely.”
