The sanctions mean that the resources of companies and individuals included in this list will be frozen and Americans will be prohibited from doing business with them.
The Ministry of Finance of USA imposed sanctions in a network of businesses based in China and various persons, who thereby help the Iran to manufacture unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
This network is responsible for sales and deliveries of thousands of components to an Iranian aircraft manufacturer, the ministry said in a press release.
The particular Iranian manufacturer is said to be involved in the production of a particular model exported from Iran to Russia, according to the same source, and has already been sanctioned in the past for this reason.
Iran, argued the US State Department, “is directly involved in the deaths of Ukrainian civilians as a result of Russia’s use of Iranian UAVs in Ukraine.”
The sanctions, the press release explains, mean that the resources of companies and individuals included in this list will be frozen and Americans will be prohibited from doing business with them. Sanctions will make it much more difficult for their targets to engage in any business activity internationally.
The ministry also announced sanctions against 39 companies in the financial sector, which it says have created a “shadow banking network” that allows Iranian companies to gain access to the international financial system and “hide” transactions.
