Unspeakable family tragedy rocks Oklahoma, USA as twin brothers aged just 18 months both drowned in a swimming pool at their family’s mansion after their great-grandmother, who also suffers from Alzheimer’s, left the door open.

The bodies of Locklyn and Loreli Callazzo were found at the bottom of the parents’ swimming pool on Thursday.

Their mum Jenny Callazzo, 37, was the first of the family to make the horrifying discovery and was spotted by firefighters who rushed to the home trying to carp her hapless infants.

Jenny, a shop owner, lives at home with her grandmother, six children and her husband Sonny, 42, a company executive.

Relatives of the family claim that Jenny’s grandmother, who suffers from Alzheimer’s, carelessly left the back door open so the twins were able to access the pool.

They added: “Please pray for the twin brothers and our whole family.”

The police are investigating, but in no way do they believe it was a criminal act, but an accident.

Calazzo, 37, recently posted photos of her twins outside the house with the caption, “they just want to play in the yard.” Neighbors said they saw the distraught mother get into the back of an ambulance as paramedics battled to save her children.

Injury prevention specialist Laura Gamino told the Mail that ‘Anything can happen in an instant’

“Children are attracted to the water and infants do not have the skills to be able to get out of the water … Drowning is very sudden and silent…”, he emphasized.
