The situation in city of Abdiivkalocated north of the city of Donetsk in eastern Ukraine, is “really hard and hard to control”Special Forces soldier Major Maksim Morozov told Ukrainian television on Monday.

Morozov, who is in the Abdiivka region, said Russian forces “moving forward despite massive losses” and they “press from both sides,” that is, to the north and south of the city. However, the Russian forces continue to exert great pressure on the city of Bahmut.

“The situation in Abdiivka becomes more serious. The enemy trades his enormous losses for measures of our land. They are using huge amounts of ammunition, hitting both (our) positions and the city. There is a huge amount of rockets, airstrikes, artillery (bombardment),” he said.

“They win because they attack in waves — first the gunners go, then the professionals go after them, the special forces who try to hit our firing lines,” he added.

“The Russians are using various tactics – night infantry attacks, armored groups, rocket fire. Our armed forces are bravely repelling the attacks,” Morozov emphasized.
