The aim of the attack, according to Prigozhin, is to cut off Wagner’s forces from the main body of Russian troops in eastern Ukraine
The leader of the Russian mercenary organization Wagner Yevgeny Prigozhin warned Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu in a letter on Monday that the Ukrainian military was planning an offensive aimed at cutting off Wagner’s forces from the main body of Russian troops in eastern Ukraine.
In the letter, released by his press service, Prigozhin says the attack was planned for late March or early April. He asked Shoigu to take all measures to prevent this plan, which he said could lead to “negative effects” on the Russian military’s efforts in Ukraine.
He added that Wagner’s fighters took control most (70%) of the territory of Bahamut. “Currently, PMC Wagner units control approximately 70% of Bahamut and will continue to attack until complete liberation,” it said. |
Prigozhin has repeatedly clashed with Shoigu, stating that his forces are not being supplied with the required ammunition in time, leaving Wagner’s mercenaries in dire straits.
