The family of George Floyd, who was murdered in 2020 by police officer Derek Sauvin in Minneapolis, USA, suffered a new shock.
Floyd’s four-year-old niece Ariana Delaney was shot dead at her home in Houston on Saturday, and authorities are trying to find the person or persons who shot several times in the apartment around 3 p.m.
Four adults and two children – including Ariana Delaney, who was shot – were inside the apartment at the time of the shooting. The little girl was asleep at the time of the shootings, while his father reported that he had injured his lung and kidney and had a broken rib.
“My daughter was shaken up and said she was hit,” said Ariana’s father, Derrick Delaney. “I saw the blood, the bleeding and I grabbed it.”
He said his wife took them to the hospital. Ariana underwent surgery and survived.
“She is being treated very quickly. The last time I checked it she was breathing without support. “It went very well,” said Derrick.
This is 4-year-old Arianna. She was front and center at the marches and rallies in her Uncle George Floyd’s case.
