Chersona was visited today, Thursday by President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky a few months after the liberation of parts of it that were under Russian occupation.

“A working trip to the Chersona region. In the village of Posad-Pokrovske, many houses and social infrastructure facilities were damaged as a result of Russia’s large-scale aggression”he said in a Telegram post on Thursday. “Electricity and water supply are being restored, a medical outpatient clinic is being rebuilt and people are returning. I talked to the locals about their current issues and needs. We will restore and rebuild everything”said the president of Ukraine.

Russian forces destroyed much of the energy infrastructure in Kherson before withdrawing to the east bank of the Dnipro River. Months later, the two sides continue their attacks, hampering infrastructure repair work and resulting in frequent power outages.

Zelensky visited one of the energy facilities in the region.

“We thought about restoring the electricity supply to the confiscated properties and repairing the equipment that was destroyed as a result of the Russian bombing”he said. “We must ensure the full restoration and protection of our energy sector.”

Yesterday, Wednesday, Zelensky made a surprise visit to a hospital where soldiers are being treated in the eastern Donetsk region near the front lines.
